Privacy policy
Sunloop ("we", "us") makes the Sunloop app for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what the app and sunloop.app collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your day stays on your phone unless you choose to sign in, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
Using Sunloop without an account
Your routines, times, history, name, avatar and settings are stored only on your phone. We don't receive them.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional. You can sign in with Apple, Google or your email address. When you do, we store:
- Account details: your email address (or the private relay address from Apple), a user ID and the sign-in method.
- Backup: your routines, their times and plans, your history, your first name, your avatar symbol and colour, and your settings, so they can be restored on a new phone. Your profile photo is never uploaded.
- Loops: if you join a loop, the other members can see your first name, your avatar symbol and colour, whether you've done the shared routine today and when, whether you're doing it now, and whether you're taking a break. They can't see anything else about your day.
Permissions on your phone
- Notifications: to remind you about your routines. Reminders are planned on your phone.
- Calendar (optional): to move a routine when a calendar event overlaps it. Calendar data is read on your phone and never uploaded.
- Health / Health Connect (optional): to mark a routine done automatically, for example a walk from your step count. Health data is read on your phone and never uploaded.
- Face ID / fingerprint (optional): to lock the app. Handled entirely by your phone; we never see biometric data.
- Photos (optional): to pick a profile photo, which stays on your phone.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking software in the app.
- We don't sell your data or share it with data brokers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Where your data is stored
Account and backup data are stored with our infrastructure provider, Supabase, in data centres that may be outside your country. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. sunloop.app is served by Cloudflare. This website doesn't use cookies or analytics.
Your choices
- Export: You → Settings → Privacy and security → Export my data.
- Delete: You → Settings → Privacy and security → Delete account, or follow these steps. We delete your account and backup within 30 days.
- Erase this phone: removes everything Sunloop stored on the phone.
Children
Sunloop isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
